“The Surprising Stories Jesus Told”
When Jesus
wanted to communicate both the amazing grace of God and the urgency
of discipleship, he told stories. In our week together we’ll enjoy
visual presentations, role plays and conversation as we take a
closer look at both the familiar and unfamiliar stories Jesus told.
We’ll discover some surprising new ways of hearing and telling
Jesus’ parables as we read them through both first century and 21st
century eyes.
Pastor Jeff Eisele
serves as pastor of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls,
South Dakota, a congregation that began as a Bible study group in
the home he shares with his wife Katherine, and sons Benjamin and
Samuel. He’s also served congregations in Hermosa and Kadoka, SD,
and Birchwood, WI. Throughout his ministry the parables of Jesus
have continued to inspire, disturb, challenge and surprise him.
Tangled Blue -
Joel & Aimée Pakan
Joel & Aimee have a unique sound that incorporates two part vocals,
Latin and electronic percussion, as well as acoustic and electronic
guitars. Their music was created largely in front of audiences, so
it is designed to engage the listener. Hearing these troubadours in
concert with their infectious melodies is an experience the listener
won’t soon forget.
